Three Generations
of Hometown Service.
In Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, the Smith name has been synonymous with insurance and integrity since Smith-Cochrane Insurance opened its doors in 1953. Frank Smith Sr. and Russell Cochrane sought to create a hometown environment to help neighbors get the protection they needed in a rapidly evolving post-war world.
Frank's son "Sandy" eventually took the reins, and after Sandy's passing in 2020, his step-daughter Jennifer A. Preston stepped in as leader — honoring the traditions her step-father set while ushering the agency into a new era. The classic principles of service, knowledge, and trust remain — alongside fresh ideas for today's clients.
